They are NOT actually using the method they imply you should use (when you buy their product with "rights")!

There is a PROBLEM with this method they are encouraging you to buy and try. Typically, you become an affiliate, or get "rights". Then, you try advertising the product. But you, discover the "secret" problem: NO SALES.  duh.

BEFORE you start calling me names like "Captain Obvious" (:->),
I realize "no sales" is no secret to you or anyone. But, what people miss, is why they have no sales? What happened? The promise "you keep all the money" sounded so... certain!

The fault - the "why" - stems from one central problem, an insidious, money-sucking, time-snatching, barrier:

COMPETITION!

NOT Competition from people selling a similar product, but Competition - in every aspect of your intended business - from HUNDREDs of THOUSANDS of people out there selling the EXACT SAME PRODUCT! They are selling the same product you are, as affiliates, or they all have "Resell Rights" to the same product.

When you understand, the sheer magnitude of the problem is probably far wose than you imagined. Thousands upon thousands upon thousands of resellers competing with you to sell the same product. THOUSANDS...

...competing for buyer traffic from Adwords ads for the same product,
...competing for ezine advertising about for the same product,
...competing for keywords about for the same product,
...competing to post articles about for the same product,
...competing for Search engine rank of the sales page for the same product,
...competing in ebay auctions selling for the same product,

Fighting constant "same product" Competition also limits the number of visitors (traffic) who even see the product. Those that DO visit, see the same product they have probably already seen over and over and may even have already purchased.

Create and Sell YOUR OWN PRODUCT!

Every one of them has their own product. Every single one. NOT some re-hashed (easily recognized), poor quality PLR (written by some Russian freelance writer), or a rebranded product someone else created. They have their very own, unique, created-new just for them, product. Most have several of their own products.

Why they do it, and why you should too, is obvious:

If it is YOUR product,

the "competition" is ONE - You! You would be the Creator/the Maker/the Author. No "exact same product" competition.

you would not have "competition" - you would have affiliates, or JV partners, where you are paid for every sale ever made!

They would be building your business.

You would actually have something to offer for a JV proposal - No one will JV with you if all you have is "resell rights." (He who creates the product, gets the JV!)

( I always found it RIDICULOUS to see "gurus" preaching to newbies that the secret to making "big money" was: doing JVs. They sell them products teaching them how to do JVs, when they know those newbies don't have their own product to offer in a JV to begin with! )

No one else can be competing for traffic to the 'same' product via blogs, using Google adwords, via search engine ranking, via backlinks, thru email advertising, etc.

EVEN IF there was no "competition" problem, Common Sense would tell you
that your very own product is the BEST way to make the most money.

I CAN HEAR YOU saying it now:

"My own product? Yes, that is obvious, 'Captian Obvious', BUT, Easier said, than done."

"It's not really an option for me. I'm no guru. I don't know how. I don't know anything about it. etc., etc."

I understand. I've been there - my first product was a resell rights product. I just didn't have my own. Yet. I figured it out quickly though: It does make perfect sense to have your own product, so I worked on that. You DO need to do the same.

BUT...it is not so easy for most people to actually do that themselves. And not cheap, even if you know how. And that is a good question:

How do the "gurus" and others do it?

THEY hire someone to create their products. They "Outsource" it. Since software is by far the best - most profitable - kind of digital product to create (and has been for 20 years or more), they try to hire a programmer to create their own software product for them.

BTW: ebooks are fine, but they have a MAJOR FLAW compared to software. IF they are "read" at all, they only get opened once or twice. Good software gets used every day.

But YOU can NOT use the "guru" approach!

You can not "outsource"! It is EXPENSIVE and there are a host of severe PROBLEMS with this "guru" approach to getting your own product:

You need to act fast for good ideas, but how long will it take?
How much will it cost?
How do I choose a good programmer?
How do I keep them from stealing my idea?
How do I keep some programmer in some place like Romania, from reselling MY product code and idea all over the net? (take it from someone who has been burned 3 times: you can't enforce protection of your idea or even your code when using a foreign contractor. It's just too difficult, to costly and time consuming to even try.)

How much MORE will it cost after Version 1.0, to modify/add/change it?
How will I KNOW it really was tested thoroughly on all versions of windows running on all types of motherboards, and all types of video cards and all types of audio cards and all types of...etc.,

How many refunds and angry customers will I have if the code is not properly tested?

Those are a lot of problems for a poor newbie - or poor marketer - to deal with!

NO, using PLR does not help. Why? (and not just because so much of it is garbage)

It really makes a customer ANGRY when they discover you just sold them the same product they have already seen, or bought (some poor quality piece of junk written by a non-English speaking freelancer - you just changed the product name or the artwork!). Even if they buy, they immediately want a refund.
